Koivusaari

Koivusaari is an urban classic with a stunning sea view. The sode facing the sea has overhanging routes with powerful moves and the vertical side is much taller with technical routes and spicy top outs. Koivusaari dries very early and it's common to see climbers there year round.

Koivusaari offers many routes and variations. Some argue too many. Many more have been climbed and new ones are rsuggested on the regular. This topo provides the obvious lines and some popular variations. Some complicated and unintuitive routes have been dropped from topo and moved into a graveyard for variations.

As Koivusaari has one of the most stunning erratic boulders of the Helsinki region, it has piqued the interest of climbers for long. The earliest records tell us, that the Koivusaari block has received climbing action for some tens of years. The future for the block seems clear, as the location has reached a legendary classic status among climbers here.
